The Beginning: The Frigid Frog of Georgia was started out of necessity. The necessity being the craving for a delicious snow cone. We could not find a location in Georgia that offered the treat we had enjoyed while living in Texas, so we decided to bring a little snow cone happiness to Georgia. Our family came to Georgia in 2008 for my husband's job. In 2009, our daughter was born and my parents moved to Georgia to be close to her. After much consideration, we decided that a family business was worth the risk to bring our favorite delicious treat to the community.
While trying to find the best syrups in the business, we came across The Frigid Frog. Our syrups are made with fruit oils in order to achieve that true-to-taste flavor that keep our customers coming back for more. We shave our snow cones from 10-lb. blocks to create the fluffy goodness that allows the syrup to be evenly distributed within the snow cone versus sinking to the bottom.
At first, there was a little explaining to why and how our treats were so yummy. As time went by, we noticed that so many people in the area were actually from other states and had grown up with fluffy snow cones (sno-balls). Needless to say, they were so happy to have a taste of home. The possibilities are endless when it comes to ordering your snow cone. We offer over 70 flavors that can be served with a scoop of ice cream, graham cracker crumbs, cream, and sour squirt. We even have a Zombie flavor complete with a gummy eyeball/brain. As you can imagine, it may be hard to make a decision when you come to our window.
Not only have we had the opportunity to be involved in many birthday parties, sporting events, company events, church activities and fundraising events, we have been blessed to have been invited to many local TV/film productions to serve our treats as well. All it took was a crew member stopping by our trailer in Sharpsburg, GA to try one of the best treats ever. The next day we were invited on the set of The Walking Dead. It was truly a blessing that led to many more productions in 2013 and continues today.
Present-Day (2023) Frigid Frog: As with everyone, 2020 proved to be quite challenging for businesses in general, but especially small businesses like ours. We made the decision to sell BOTH of our Frigid Frog trailers in order to concentrate on the DRIVE-THRU ONLY concept that you see today. We were lucky that our gourmet coffee truck, The Toasty Toad, was able to continue serving the movie industry. While we no longer have our mobile shaved ice flavors, we are still able to serve our fluffy treats to you in the convenience of your air-conditioned vehicle.
